Cascadia Success

In the most recent chapter in the Cascadian rivalry between the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders, the Timbers managed to hang on to a 2-1 victory over the Sounders.  The first half was all Timbers, as Kris Boyd and David Horst staked the Timbers to a 2-0 lead.  The second half had the Sounders respond with a goal from Eddie Johnson and the Sounders threw everything at the Timbers in the closing minutes, only to have the rally fall short.  This rivalry is far from over, as red cards were handed out to a member of each team close to stoppage time.  This was a much needed win for the Timbers, who had been on a seven match winless streak.
