No Timmy Jim!
I don't pretend to know Tim Thomas' middle name, so don't be sending complaint letters correcting the title, but seeing as I have no clever title for today's piece, it will have to do. That said, take a good look at the picture above because you will not see Thomas in action next year. No word on whether it will lead to retirement or if it's just to recharge his batteries. What is known is that Boston's goaltending situation just got a little weaker. It's not a major concern, as Tuukaa Rask will be the starter (assuming that he doesn't leave as a restricted free agent) and his play in the 2010 playoffs showed that the Bruins are in good hands, and yes, I know Boston lost a series after being up 3-0, but that was not all his fault. Where the Bruins need help is likely in the backup role, as the Bruins had to sign Marty Turco when Rask was out with an injury this past season. Thomas' absence is not a cause for alarm for Bruins fans, as it is far from the biggest need. What the Bruins need the most is offense on the power play, as it has been dreadful the past few years.
